Captain Dick Stuart and Chef/Steward Kim Richards combine their love for each other, love of sailing, and commitment to exceptional hospitality to guarantee guests wonderful memories aboard DEEP BLUE. They are passionate about the experience they deliver, cultivating a feeling of adventure and joy, that is sure to last far beyond your time in their care.
Captain Dick Stuart
Captain Dick Stuart, a mechanical engineer by training, enjoyed a successful career in construction sales management. He started his sailing career at the early age of 10 in an El Toro on Lafayette Reservoir in Northern California. Growing up, much of his time was spent sailing on San Francisco Bay and extensively bareboat chartering throughout the Caribbean. Captain Dick, in preparation for what he thought was a “retirement dream plan” continued to hone his sailing skills over the years.
He holds a 100 TON MASTERS WITH SAILING ENDORSEMENT, an FCC Marine Radio Operators Certification and a Dive Instructor Certification. Captain Dick has an excellent reputation as “the troubleshooting ninja”, and uses his knowledge of mechanical systems to anticipate all the “what ifs.”
Safety is Captain Dick’s priority for his guests, but FUN is his second! An adventure seeker and water lover, he moved to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in 2017 and loves sailing the beautiful aquamarine waters and island hopping.
Captain Dick welcomes all guests with his famous Captain’s Cocktails nightly! He is an avid Cribbage player and will challenge the best!
Chef/Stew Kim Richards
Kim’s love for sailing began in 2012,the first time she set foot on a catamaran in the BVI. She has been“hooked” ever since! After completed sailing classes in Colorado and California, Kim captained several catamarans in Mexico and the Caribbean. She delights in creating the ultimate pampering venue for guests and sharing the magical experience of sailing the beautiful Caribbean waters!
An accomplished business owner, motivational speaker and author, she understands the ultimate importance of customer service and has a keen eye for personal detail. Kim is extremely passionate about food and hospitality, ensuring every delicious meal is prepared according to guest preference. From her attention to detail to her carefully crafted meals and cocktails, Kim ensures your vacation experience far exceeds your expectations!
An avid traveler, Kim has a great sense of adventure. Her adventures have taken her bungee jumping in New Zealand, skiing in the European Alps, fly fishing in Montana and Utah, volunteering as a nurse (former ER and Trauma RN) in Ethiopia and Uganda, hiking in Patagonia and Class V white water rafting in Colorado. A fitness and yoga instructor for over 30 years, she lives an active lifestyle in whatever location she may be.
Kim exudes a tranquility to the guests that is based on her lifelong practice of yoga and meditation, allowing everyone the opportunity to absorb the soothing nature of the sea. Come along as she paddle boards to the shore for a yoga on the beach session!

Dear Captain Dick and Chef/First Mate Kim,
First things first: I wanna thank you both with all my heart—or as we say back home, from the bottom of my Talladega-loving heart—for the most unbelievable two weeks out on the shimmering seas of Antigua. If cruising were a NASCAR race, y’all just took the checkered flag and did a victory lap in a golden speedboat.
Captain Dick, you steered us through those waters like I handle my Chevy on a racetrack—smooth, fast, and making it look easy. Every turn of the boat was like hitting the perfect drift. And Kim, lord have mercy, your cooking had more flair than a pit road on race day. I swear, those meals could win championships. They fueled us up better than my crew chief does before the final laps.
Between the sunsets that looked like they were painted just for us, the laughter we shared, and the peace of being out there with nothing but the blue around us, I felt like I was in one of those fancy TV commercials. Except it was real life, and y’all were the stars of the show.
So, from the depths of my racing soul, thank you for every moment, every meal, and every memory. We might not have been going 200 mph, but I’d say we were flying all the same. Let’s do it again sometime—shake and bake!

We recently had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable weeks sailing around Antigua aboard the magnificent 'Deep Blue,' under the expert care of Captain Dick and Chef Kim. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
**Captain Dick** is a true master of the seas. His extensive knowledge of the waters around Antigua ensured that each day brought new and exciting destinations. His navigation skills were impeccable, making us feel safe and confident throughout our journey. Captain Dick’s enthusiasm for sailing and his deep understanding of the local culture and history added a rich layer to our adventure. He was always ready with a fascinating story or a hidden gem of a location to explore, making our trip both educational and thrilling.
**Chef Kim** delighted us with culinary creations that were nothing short of gourmet. I sincerely appreciate the adventure we experienced with you & Chef Kim. Being an Ocean / Beach enthusiast, one of the things I hadn't done was to go out on a CAT vacay!! Once out on the water with you & Kim the dream became a reality. More than I expected!! The problem will be --- now that I've gone with you both on Deep Blue, I wouldn't want to be with any other crew or on any other boat (CAT). Here's to our next trip...................

We have been to the islands, but never really to the islands, until now. Spending a Friday to Friday with the most amazing co-crew was the most memorable sailing trip we’ve ever had. What an amazing experience this has been. You both went above and beyond to make this charter so memorable. Captain Dick made us feel so safe with his boat skills, and we enjoyed the chance to go diving. We loved the itinerary and knowledge of each anchorage we visited. Chef Kim was the perfect chef and hostess. She anticipated our needs and made it happen. Her food was top notch from filet mignon, seared tuna, tiramisu, and a chocolate mousse to die for. I would recommend Kim and Dick as crew to anyone looking for a fabulous time in the Caribbean.

We had a wonderful trip on the Deep Blue with Captain Dick and his wonderful wife Kim. The 58 foot Leopard Catamaran is fantastic, Captain Dick is outstanding at the helm and his wife Kim made fantastic food and beverage. They are simply wonderful hosts and we cannot wait to return. Their non stop efforts insured that a great time was had by everyone. Great Sailboat, perfect location, superb food and even better people. We cannot wait to sail with them again!
