Crew

Captain: Thomas Beesley

Nationality: South African

Captain Thomas Beesley, was born and raised along the beautiful East Coast of South Africa, were his adventurous spirit and natural abilities were able to flourish. Thomas has often expressed his passion for meeting new people and to experience the best of what the world has to offer. At a young age Thomas took part in local skim and surfing competitions, from there and with the help from his uncle evolved into yachting. Now thoroughly hooked and in love with the yachting world, he earned his 200 ton captains license and set course with 8 crew around the world aboard a 70ft schooner! Eager to develop his life skills within in the industry, Thomas successfully received his Padi Divemasters certificate and enjoyed working for a year as a dive leader and captain aboard a 10 person charter catamaran in the Caribbean, and various other vessels throughout the Mediterranean.

Bronwyn Gero your personal chef onboard has been referred to by friends as a small town girl with big girl dreams! She grew up in one of South Africa's smaller towns were entertainment was limited and opportunities few. However, for an inquisitive and imaginative young mind Bronwyn along with her unique culinary talents has evolved with an never ending appetite for more. As a child, baking was her introduction to the galley. As a culinary student, she’s developed her cooking skills by exploring the depths of flavour, presentation and the sheer sensory experience of the dish.

Bronwyn’s wonderful zest for life and spirit of adventure - both in and out the galley - keeps her motivated and propels her towards the luxurious world of crewed charters. With the confidence and imagination to try new and adventurous cuisines, she has the skills and ability of adapting to a wide range of preferences and styles of cooking onboard.

Outside the galley, Bronwyn has earned her Padi Divemaster certification and is pleased to assist with leading the dives onboard.

Thomas and B are joined by a 3rd stew/deckhand

March 2023

We had an excellent trip. The Nomada catamaran was very nice and comfortable, the best part was the crew. The crew was attentive and aimed to please, always available for helping with anything or doing, making, fetching anything but not intrusive. They were excellent in reading our family of five and adjusted their formality to suit our more laid back style for this trip with the three teenagers. The food and drinks were delicious and carefully catered to our varying tastes. The diving was great, being able to literally get dropped into the ocean on top of a shipwreck with our captain as the dive guide was incredibly spoiling. Tom, the captain, was particularly patient with our son who is an eager and brave diver, keeping him safe and with the group. The crew made the trip for us all.
We miss them already!

This experience checked every box we could have imagined. Tom,B and Glen, you are forever woven into the fabric of your lives. We can’t begin to express our gratitude for sharing your generous spirit with us on this amazing trip.

Every meal was not only delicious but wow, each was a work of art from chef B, Glens micsology skills never failed to amaze and inspire us in his knowledge of the culture and history of these island are truly remarkable. What will we do without these two when we get home.

Captain Tom- you trips too Jenga and wake boarding were perfect, your description of the hike was a little understated.

While we didn’t get to the bubbly pool it gives us a reason to come back. We love being part of the competition “ we are the champion my friends”

Tom, you are shining example of what needs to be a professional living out his wildest dreams and we wish you nothing but more fantastic and surfing adventures on the seas.

We hope you come visit us in Annapolis if you come to he US our hearts are full.

Am I lost at sea or maybe the sea is lost in me. My soul has been shaken or maybe awakened by the solitude and grace that awaits beneath the surface. I once had a great fear of the unknown that rested the wonder and silence with each wave breath.
Tom, B and Glen- words are inadequate to express the depths of this gratitude for this experience. I thank the powers that be, which guided our paths to collide. Happy sailing till we meet again.
With gratitude Kristin P.

There are big ships. There are small ships. There are ships that sail the sea. But the best ships are friendships and may they always be.
We have made 3 new friends that made our week on Nomada - Tom, B, Glem - these friendships will always be.
Thanks is too small a word.
Xoxo Lynda.

There are so many positive things that can be said both about the crew and the boat but nothing would do justice. The way Tom, B and Glen worked together was a thing of beauty. The way they all connected with each member of our family was rare, unique and truly genuine. We feel blessed to have spent this time together as a family on such an amazing vessel. We feel even more fortunate to be leaving this trip with 3 new family members. Thank you guys for making this a true trip of a lifetime.
Thanks Brian.

Growing up in this family I’ve learned to appreciate anything that is donor me- big or small. I'm forever grateful for how special you all made this trip. It helped remind me so much of simple pleasures. Fresh clean sheets. A refreshing drink on a hot day, a rainy day on the ocean or a cup of coffee in the morning, From all the unbelievable flood to the laughter this trip brought- so wholesome.
Thank you Glen, B, Tom.

Just wanted to let you know that we all had an awesome trip on NOMADA. The boat was in great condition and the crew were fantastic. The three of them worked well together, not having to tell each other what to do. All was automatic and seamless. We had them spend the day with us at Scrub and Soggy and they really appreciated that and had a great time.
