MEET THE CREW ON SOL SEEKER
Scott, is a lover of adventure, land, air, and sea. He spent his life on land as an educator, teaching biology and earth science with a love of nature and exploration. He loves learning and teaching and has filled his mind with a plethora of trivia, nautical and otherwise. His aquatic experience started with SCUBA diving at the ripe, young age of 16. He learned to sail across the seasons on Lake Michigan, braving the chill of spring and fall while taking care of charter guests in the narrow summer months. He brings creativity and excitement to your adventure with a desire to always find something new and unique on every trip. Captain Scott is a certified mixologist creating amazing cocktails.
Nikki, was raised on the waters of the Mississippi River and has loved water her entire life. She grew up camping and boating, finding adventure and excitement in the water. A love of photography grew as she found more and more memorable pieces of nature to capture on film. Her love of food extends not only to the pleasure of the palate but also a respect for allergies and preferences across diets. She has spent the majority of her life as a Sign Language Interpreter, working in every field including medicine and travel just to name a few. For the past decade she has been learning and honing her sailing skills on the mercurial Lake Michigan, and taken those skills to the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean to see the world from the water. In recent years she has taken new sailors under her wing to share her knowledge. She loves sharing both the thrill of the reefed sail and heavy heel as well as the peace and quiet of a hoisted sail and silenced motor.
Nikki is a nationally certified American Sign Language Interpreter, fluent in ASL. Nikki is the perfect match for charters that have a Deaf person on board. The Deaf client(s) gain access to communication for safety and accessibility. If they would like to take land tours, Nikki would be able to interpret for these tours. Nikki also enjoys teaching signs to children and adults alike. Guests love learning the sign for turtle, octopus, fish, sailboat, etc.
Chef Nikki specializes in allergy and specialty diets. She is extremely knowledgeable particularly in Gluten Free diets due to cooking for someone with Celiac’s Disease for decades. She also has a close family member that is vegan and members of her family with nut allergies. She has years of experience cooking keto, paleo and Whole 30. Chef Nikki is competent and happy to accommodate guest allergies and preferences.
Chef Nikki and Captain Scott taught sailing for years and love to teach guests that are interested in sailing. Chef Nikki’s passion is to teach beginners the basics. She is patient and has many techniques to help guests remember what they have learned. Captain Scott is an SLC instructor. The SLC is a prestigious international sailing certificate that allows sailors to bareboat anywhere in the world. If sailors have experience and do the online coursework prior to charter, Captain Scott is able to do the on the water test for the SLC throughout their vacation and certify them if they pass the requirements.

A Trip We Will Always Treasure
We had the absolute pleasure of being on Sol Seeker with Captain Scott and Chef Nikki for our honeymoon/babymoon. The trip from start to finish was absolutely perfect.
From snorkeling, and fishing to just soaking in the beautiful views we enjoyed every part of this experience. I am a very picky eater but Chef Nikki’s food was incredible even to the point where I was looking forward to breakfast every morning and I never eat breakfast.

Our recent boat trip on the Sol Seeker with Captain Scott and Chef Nikki, was seriously amazing – the best boat trip we've ever had! We've been to the US and British Virgin Islands lots of times and done other boat charters, but this one was top-notch. Chef Nikki's food was incredible. Every single meal, from breakfast to dinner, plus snacks and desserts, was so good and looked beautiful. We had fresh fish, delicious meats, and a super fun 4th of July dinner with cool decorations.
Captain Scott was awesome too. Whenever we wanted to go somewhere, he was ready in seconds to take us and always there waiting to pick us up. The Sol Seeker boat itself is really nice and super clean, with comfy rooms. Don't miss these fun things: * The rum and chocolate tasting with Captain Scott – it's a must-do! * The special movie night where they project a movie on the front of the boat and you watch it outside. * And a huge plus – the air conditioning works great! Amazing Trip!
AMAZING TRIP! Talk about great food, fun and relaxation. This is the only way to do a vacation! Nikki and Scott, thanks for the best time ever! We have done two other yacht rentals and this one was by far the best! We had a party of 4 (sisters and hubby’s) Great accommodation’s, lots of sun, sailing, drinks, water toys, sea life, and beautiful beaches and did I mention the food?
Additionally, we know have two new friends who took us into their home and pampered us the whole week! Scott set up the Big screen on the front of the boat so we could watch/listen to the OKC Thunder win the playoffs and another night we watched Captain Ron and Nikki made homemade popcorn with M&M’s in it!!! We have so many photos and videos with our underwater camera and their go pro! Can’t wait to book another trip! Best Trip Of My Life at 50!
I wish i would have taken this vacation before I turned 50. Maybe it was because Nikki and Scott spoiled us so much, or because all the places they took us were amazing. But combined, this was the best trip I have ever taken in my life! From the amazing food and drinks Nikki prepared from sunup to sundown, the comfy beds, the energy Scott provides the guests, especially with the kids (snorkeling, knee boarding and evening games), and getting to drive the boat (trying to make Scott walk the plank like a scurvy pirate), this trip is easily a 10 out of 10. I read this quote right before I booked our trip “don’t worry about the price, the memories will be priceless”… that is an understatement. We are already planning our next trip on Sol Seeker! Great Choice to Choose a Crewed Charter
We went on our first sailing charter in the BVIs! I'm sharing highlights if you are considering this trip, hope this helps you as the many reviews I read from others helped us decide on our trip:
1- We decided on a crewed charter with Captain and Chef - I thought the value was well worth the extra cost - no need to plan for meals, moorings, etc. Everything was set for us to enjoy the day every day! Scott and Nikki were our gracious captain and chef, highly recommend them specifically!!!
2- They are very aware of dietary restrictions and were able to accommodate for celiac! They have their own dietary restrictions so this was a big bonus for me to be able to do a “small boat” (vs cruise) and not have to worry
3- We had a mix of people that were interested in sailing/ learning and those that weren’t and they were flexible to get those that wanted to be involved as much or as little as they preferred

What a wonderful trip on Sol Seeker. From the minute we were greeted on deck we felt at home with the whole environment which was impeccably clean, and quite spacious for the 6 guests. We never felt crowded, there was always somewhere to go to get more (or less) sun, wind, or company. Captain Scott and Chef Nikki offered just the right mix of being hosts and leaving us to our own private time. The entire week was incredibly relaxing, being pampered by Scott & Nikki. It's amazing the meals she was able to prepare in a boat galley, and dinner times were all uniquely specialized to the activities of the day. Scott fit right in on our snorkeling and shore activities, being a perfect guide. By the end of the week we all felt like one big "Skull King" family. Highly recommended.

Where To Begin!
I'm not even sure where to begin! This trip was something out of my comfort zone and I was definitely anxious about how things would go. Within minutes of meeting Captain Scott and Chef Nikki and stepping onto the Sol Seeker, I felt at ease and the excitement of what was to come took over the anxiousness. The food was amazing and Nikki was more then accommodating for my pickiness and made sure I always had something to eat! Hospitality Second To None!
We scheduled our trip with Sol Seeker after reviewing several boat profiles. We felt Captain Scott and Chef Nikki fit the bill of the crew we would connect with and we were right!
Captain Scott was a great captain but also a fantastic land guide, taking us on hikes around the Bathes, the bubble pool, “Treasure Island” and Annaberg Plantation. His excitement to teach us SkullKing (such a fun game), set up movie night (& Reacher night!!) and share his historical & science knowledge sparked our excitement for all too!
Chef Nikki’s meals were everything we expected and more. The Ahi tuna nachos were my absolute favorite but all the meals were delicious (pork loin, Shakshuka, pancakes, quesadillas….the list goes on). Every morning we woke up to coffee and a beautiful plate of fresh fruit. Nikki also has a wealth of knowledge about the Islands for all the questions we threw at her. Fun fact, Chef Nikki is also a captain so you can feel safe having 2 experienced captains on the boat!
Scott and Nikki are Owners & Crew for the Sol Seeker so, the hospitality they show you while inviting you into “their home” was second to none!
I would highly recommend the “sleep aboard” option if available for your trip. We arrived the afternoon before our scheduled trip, but were able to sleep on the boat and get acquainted with Scott and Nikki that evening before setting sail.
Also, Nikki was more than willing to get airport transportation set up for us so we just had so show up! Both of these as well as making dinner reservations for us for that night, helped make travel day less stressful!! Amy S.

Our week aboard Sol Seeker with Captain Scott and Chef Nikki was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we stepped onto the immaculate, well-organized catamaran, we felt at ease knowing we were in the hands of true professionals.
Captain Scott’s deep knowledge of the British Virgin Islands ensured we were always in the right place at the right time—whether it was a prime snorkeling spot, a secluded beach, or the perfect sunset anchorage. They listened to our preferences from the pre-trip information sheet/zoom call and nailed it perfectly! Nikki provided exquisite meals as the chef for the discerning food members in our group, as well as set the table beautifully each meal to go the extra mile with her details to make everything special for us. We celebrated my birthday, wedding anniversaries, and New Year's Eve in style with festive decorations they provided and set up for us, and her gourmet desserts were phenomenal.

Lastly, it is important to mention that being on a yacht for 7 nights is close living quarters, and Nikki and Scott were both conscious of preserving our privacy, while also sharing in our discoveries of all the USVI and BVI has to offer with their knowledge and experience.

It's been a week of pampering, rainbows and turtles. We anticipated the trip for months and it did not disappoint. We were able to marvel at the beauty of the islands because everything was taken care of. It seemed they were ready with what we needed before we knew we needed it.
Nikki's gourmet meals were a feast for the eyes and the belly. But she was so much more than that. She was quick with a kind word when it was needed. She never tired of answering another question.
Scott did so many crucial jobs, quietly and skillfully. When we ventured out, we did not worry because captain Scott was always there in his dinghy. He was also a wealth of knowledge on endless topics.

Amazing 40th Birthday Trip
My 40th birthday celebration on Sol Seeker was the favorite birthday of my life. Whales, bubbly pool, turtles, squid and that blacktip reef shark! Nikki's cooking is amazing. I rate each meal as ranging from excellent to phenomenal.
Captain Scott made the trip for me. Willing to do anything I wanted as far as hikes or watersports. You both care, you bust your asses and it did not go unnoticed. Every Day Was A Joy
Our group of four (consisting of two senior couples) have just completed a fabulous week aboard Sol Seeker, owned and operated by Scott as captain and Nikki, his wife, as chef.
When we began our search for a boat for our venture, we had a defined set of objectives. We wanted to enjoy the thrill of sailing in the Caribbean, to do this in a beautiful, sound, well appointed and well-maintained craft, to experience many well executed activities, to dine on excellent food and drink, to participate in lively and informative conversation and to leave with a feeling that we had interacted with and seen the best representation of what the Virgin Islands had to offer. Our selection of Sol Seeker for this venture was perfect. Scott, a former science teacher and now licensed captain skillfully operates a superbly maintained catamaran.
All of Nikki’s culinary creations were artful, nutritious and delicious. A rum tasting following dessert by Captain Scott displayed the broad spectrum of these products produced in the Caribbean.
We scheduled a couple of meals off the boat and found the Cooper Island Beach Club and Pirates Bight in Bights Bay to be excellent recommendations.
Their backgrounds, training and conversational skills made every day a joy, both in learning and in recreation using their extensive inventory of equipment. We didn’t want our week to end and wish to return – with them to support us on another venture.

Thank you for a wonderful trip in the USVI. This was first sailing trip and didn’t truly know what to expect. Your warmth and eagerness to connect with us and know us really shinned through. We felt at home immediately upon meeting you and know we were in for an adventurous and comfortable week. Your recommendation to go on specific hikes and explore specific rock shelves and coral outcrops were spot on. You filled out cups and now sadly we depart, but know that we are taking stories, memories, and experiences that we’ll share for the rest of our lives. Easily one of the top 5 trips I have ever been on – frankly it could be the best.
Our group was an odd assembly including a 10 year old boy with all of the 10 year old boy energy, a moody teenager girl, 1 middle aged woman who is extroverted and always keeping busy, a middle aged man who is extremely introverted and tends to fly solo (not sure he has ever been with this many people for this may days and definitely not in close quarters), and myself who works all of the time so vacations are extremely important to me.
What surprised me the most about the trip was how Nikki and Scott understood each of our personalities and helped us individually have the best trip possible. I still don’t know how they did it but when I see the pictures of our trip I don’t even recognize our faces with the size of smiles we are sporting. I am well-traveled and would considered this easily one of the top 5 trips I have ever been on – frankly it could be the best.
We loved the boat – it was very clean and comfortable, had thoughtful little details throughout, and we never felt cramped. The beds were great, the hang out spaces were comfy, and I felt like I was both in someone‘s home and also a hotel. It was a really nice balance. The locations they took us to were amazing. We have been to the USVIs several times and I think our new favorite spots were Sol Seeker’s recommendations. They helped us plan our day and we all were able to partake in several activities with their help. They never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable and they were more than accommodating.
Chef Nikki even went the extra mile to create a small token/memory for our recently deceased father – it was touching and incredibly thoughtful. Captain Scott was a true sport and not only pitched in with some 10 year old’s homework but also helped us learn new games while maintaining the patience of a saint.
The food – this one I can’t write enough about. Every item she plated for us was scarfed up by a pack of wolves – it was almost embarrassing. There were fabulous tablescapes and the plating was what you would expect out of a restaurant. It baffles me how she pulled it off in her tiny kitchen. It was the little details on the food that really blew us away she knocked it out of the park. She studied our food preferences we sent beforehand, and every meal was in tune with what we had requested. The moody teenager has a “thing” with food and she even remarked how she never had eaten so much or tried so many new things. It was amazing!
When planning this trip we neglected to understand the value of the team you hire to take you on the journey. The training and certifications are nice but what it comes down to is personalities. I would imagine all the boats are lovely, any beach or snorkel spots on the islands is great, and that most of the food is good (if it wasn’t I would assume that particular charter would be out of business!). What sets Sol Seeker apart, in my opinion, is the crew. It is extraordinary how they worked with our wide range of personality types. They were empathetic, hardworking, accommodating, highly skilled in their crafts, and generally just good humans that you want to be around. They created an experience for our family that will be cherished.

Touring to Caribbean islands with Scott and Nikki was truly fantastic! I honestly cannot think of a thing to better our experience. They demonstrate a level of thoughtfulness that I am sure you wont find anywhere else. From taking us to special places to create memories to creating menus and games just for our family. Full week of great food and fun!
I tend to only see the downside to things and boats are not my fav our things I I was coming into this trying to be positive but as soon as the first day passed I knew I did not have to try because there was nothing to complain about. this was the first time in months where I ate 3 meals a day and more, for a week straight. I discovered new foods that I enjoy, and found out i really like crabs and I got over my fear of swimming with fish.
I loved it and the good was so good and when Scott made us play showdo run it was really fun and all fish I loved

Wonderful family vacation!
Everything exceeded our expectations. I could not have anticipated how wonderful the trip would be. The islands, the family time, the food - it was amazing! What truly glued everything together was the crew, Nikki and Scott. Your presence was as important as the weather. 10 out of 10 would recommend and do it again.

Best vacation ever! Chef Nikki and Captain Scott have found their calling. What a blessing to have the opportunity to be so spoiled surrounded by such glorious scenery! The food was top notch, the stories made each new experience more fun, chef Nikki swimming to shore to retrieve our cab fare, having a cup ready for my medicine every morning, emptying the trash daily, setting the table with creativity every meal! Absolutely Amazing Hosts
Nikki and Scott were absolutely amazing hosts. We are a family of 6 ranging in age from 2 to 70 years old and they would not have been more accommodating.
Nikki's food preparations were absolutely incredible all while being mindful of food allergies - every day we had a fresh fruit platter, amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers and deliciously beautiful dinner presentations with formal place settings and mood lighting.
We also had a birthday on board. Nikki and Scott went out of their way and decorated the entire boat and had a birthday cake with candles made and at the ready.
They made fun cocktails like frozen Lime 'n d Coconut and Pain Killers.
Captain Scott was our adventure guide and took us on some amazing hikes and snorkel trips. He was also my 4 year old daughters dance partner and every night we had music and fun dancing on the boat.
The entire family agrees this was truly a once in a lifetime vacation and hands done the coolest experience/vacation we've ever had.

From the time we met at the dock, I knew instantly this wasn't going to be just another vacation but the most spectacular vacation ever! We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived until we departed. You always made us feel like family and were so welcoming.

I've laughed, I've cried tears of joy and I've said "Is this real life?" more times than I can count. Every moment of our stay has been filled with so much thought, hospitality and attention to detail.
I felt so included in every meal despite my allergy, which never happens! From the concert on the water, to Lime Out tacos, to star gazing, we have had so many experiences that truly felt once in a lifetime!

Sol Seeker is a beautiful charter boat. Captain Scott and Chef Nikki are a great crew who make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
This vacation was the experience of a lifetime for me. My favorite part of every day was snorkeling. Each cove we visited had a different underwater surprise.
The table settings were beautiful which made the meals feel special and the food was delicious. This charter was worth every penny and more. I was planning my next vacation on Sol Seeker before I even left the islands.

Awesome and Amazing Experience
I had the honor of sailing on the Sol Seeker, with Captain Scott and First Mate/Chef Nikki.
What an awesome and amazing experience!! The beauty of the Virgin Islands was impressive in its own right but was surpassed by my time on the Sol Seeker.
We were pleasantly greeted at the Harbor with exuberant enthusiasm at my arrival. Luggage was taken to the yacht ahead and later myself and 2 other guests were escorted to the yacht.
What an amazing and beautiful vessel. This was my first experience on a smaller vessel but found my accommodations as well as rest of the yacht to be very roomy and comfortable and always kept clean and safe.
The professionalism of both Scott and Nikki and their extreme knowledge was very impressive and I was always at ease.
As Chef - Nikki out did herself in meals or snacks she had prepared. She asked if there were favorites but honestly all were truly delicious.
Prior to our arrival we were contacted as to what we enjoyed eating or didn't favor and beverages we enjoyed. She truly listened and meals were prepared and beverages provided to meet our request. I will say if any favorites - desserts fall into that category.
A daily itinerary was planned and we got to experience some beautiful nature, ocean life and even got lucky and saw a deer. Activities were available as snorkeling, kayaking of which I had never done before and instructions given prior to taking on either. Also great games for evening time after dinner.
I have traveled to some extent in my life and have to say this is probably a highlight of my experiences.
Will I do it again - ABSOLUTELY! Will I go on SOL SEEKER again - COUNT ON IT!
