Navigation

As you depart with your charter yacht, the ferry channel marks to port, approach 350 degrees. A small marina provides a number of breath in 3 to 5 meters along a T-shaped pontoon with a fuel tank at the South side.

As the reef grounds stretches from the East and West of the shores and along the head of the bay, the anchoring is done 200 meters in to middle from the village dock. The bay sees a lot of yacht charter frequency during the high season, paying mooring buoys have been laid, furthur reducing the anchoring space.

General Information

Jost Van Dyke is a world distinct from other British Virgin Islands, and as the name indicates, Great Harbor is its largest harbor, which is the sole village of the Jost and the port of entry to the British Virgin Island.

Surrounded by high hills, Great Harbor is safeguarded from gusts of wind and has the largest population of the Island. There is a reef inside the harbor that covers hundreds of feet of the shore, which presents a great opportunity for coral snorkeling. It is an ideal spot for anchoring or mooring BVI charter vessels.
