Navigation
The best way to enter the Setting point by yacht charter is from the north of Virgin Gorda. Noon is the best time to enter the channel at setting point so it is advisable to start early in the morning.
Once you set out on your BVI charter journey to setting point, enter the way point in your GPS, which is 5 degrees magnetic from mosquito rock and 12 miles ahead of it. Be careful not to sail to the east of Rhumb line in order to avoid the reefs. You should be careful when you arrive at your way point, as most guides and charts show three reds instead of the two present there. Take your time to spot the red and green markers. After passing the last green head right to the open anchorage where it is more private. Although it offers more privacy, the open anchorage is more unprotected for charter yachts. If you turn left from the last green of your way point, you will end up into the anchorage proper.
