Captain: Matt Allardice

Captain Matt
With 6 years of dedicated experience in the maritime industry, backed by over 3500 nautical miles as a seasoned skipper in the picturesque waters of South Africa, Matthew brings a wealth of expertise and a profound passion for sailing. His journey spans 17 years of sailing, evolving from a foundation of dedication and curiosity into a versatile maritime professional. beyond the bounds of his professional realm, he proudly represented South Africa in the RS Tera Worlds event held in Italy in 2012—an experience that underscored his commitment to excellence on an international stage. The maritime world has also witnessed his participation in a series of short deliveries, the longest spanning 215 nautical miles (27 hours) on a Corby 49 sailing vessel. His comprehensive skill set even extends to the meticulous packaging and overseas shipment of a Cape 31 sailing vessel to Hong Kong, where he played an integral role in the China Cup, securing a commendable 3rd place finish on a Mills 41.

When not immersed in maritime pursuits, he finds exhilaration in wakeboarding, the thrill of kitesurfing, the serenity of stand-up paddleboarding, and the adventure of kayaking. These outdoor pursuits further exemplify his deep-rooted connection to the water and his enduring desire for all things aquatic.

As he continues charting his course in the maritime world, he is guided by a steadfast determination to have reached his goal of becoming a Captain—an emblem of leadership, knowledge, and nautical mastery. Matthew is humbled by the rich tapestry of experiences that has brought him thus far and eagerly anticipates the horizons yet to be explored.
