Crew

Captain: Adrian Stanley

Nationality: South African

Captain Adrian Stanley
I am an adventurous and ambitious young man. I do my ultimate best in everything I do. When confronted with a challenge I focus my energy, knowledge, and experience to overcome. I am passionate about exploring new avenues and opportunities and broadening my ‘knowledge of the unknown’. I am dedicated, hardworking and a team player. I have been working in the industry for around 6 years in the Mediterranean and have done a few trips around South Africa in both calm and very rough seas and consider myself a highly experienced sailor with over 12 000 miles under my belt.
Licences and certification
• RYA Yacht Master Offshore (commercially endorsed)
• Powerboat level 2
• STCW ’95- Elementary first aid
• STCW ’95- Competence in security awareness
• STCW ’95- Fire prevention and fire fighting
• STCW ’95- Personal survival techniques
• STCW ’95- Personal safety and social responsibility

Chef Emma George
Having grown up ni the diverse landscape that encapsulates South Africa, I was always fascinated by the way in which food was able to bring people together. Although my devotion to help others led me to study clinical speech therapy, my passion for cooking continued to grow. While "*self-taught", I have had the opportunity to work alongside many exceptional, industry-trained chefs and believe my cooking reflects this. Although relatively new to the yacht-chef industry, I have been around sailing yachts my whole life. I am a quick learner, think well on my feet and adapt well to challenging situations. I have worked in the service industry for my entire career and thrive in the company of others. This led me to apply to Quarterdeck in 2022 where I learned the ins and outs of cooking on board before spending the summer at sea cooking 18 meals a week for 8-10 guests on 40-46ft catamarans.
