CAPTAIN BIO
Hugo is a seasoned sailor who has been captivated by water from a young age. He grew up in England, in a small county just outside of London and spent most holidays by the seaside of Cornwall. At the tender age of seven, Hugo discovered his passion for sailing, racing lasers and 49er’s while at school. Later in his youth he became an instructor for this.
Hugo’s passion for sailing and the ocean grew stronger after school, so he headed to the South of France to work on luxury Superyachts. At 18, he was selected and sponsored to race across the Atlantic being the youngest crew in the fleet. This is when Hugo realized his true calling. He completed his Yacht Masters amongst other qualifications with the dream of becoming a captain.
Hugo has at present, worked as Skipper and 1st Mate on luxury yachts of up to 100ft. From sailing charters to sea-life safari tours - he’s been sailing in some of the most beautiful and exotic locations around the world. After completing his second crossing to Antgiua, he is currently obtaining his Ocean Master.
When he’s not at work, Hugo is an avid water-sports enthusiast and instructor. He loves to coach waterskiing, wakeboarding, and wake-surfing. Surfing, diving and fishing are also just a few his many hobbies. Whether on the water or on land, Hugo is always seeking new adventures and finding ways to connect with the sea.
It’s not just Hugo’s sailing skills and experience that sets him apart. He is an all-around, genuine, energetic, light-hearted person with a great sense of humour and incredible ambition.
Hugo looks forward to welcoming you onboard Sunshine Baby and exploring the beautiful islands of the BVIs with you!
CHEF BIO
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, amidst natural and sunny landscapes, Mila and the sea have a lifetime relationship. As a worldwide traveler, exploring new places and cultures are key to Mila, as is studying and learning different subjects.
Originally a graduated Veterinarian who also devoted a few of her years in a journalism major. She has a very diverse set of past work experiences: from a communication and marketing analyst, to handling and caring for pumas and jaguars in the Bolivian jungle, to becoming a yacht chef.
Over 10 years ago, at Palma de Mallorca, Spain, was Mila’s first encounter with yachting. Ever since that day, she could often be found in boats, from all shapes and sizes, exploring the bays and beaches from her homeland.
2022 was the year she decided to unite both of her passions, cooking and sailing. After taking professional cooking classes in Rio, she became a yacht charter chef, having sailed through Spain, Brazil, Panama, the Virgin Islands, and Antigua and Barbuda.
In order to further fuel her desire for new knowledge and new cultures, she has signed up for an adventure half-way across the globe, in the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Sydney, Australia, which she will complete just prior to joining Sunshine Baby. Mila hopes to bring new and innovative techniques to help her translate her passions and visions into cooking as a means to keep dazzling her guests.
